Madrid’s Bono Alquiler Joven (Youth Rent Voucher): 1–15 December 2026 Deadline to Get Paid, Lists, Requirements and New Aid
From 1 to 15 December 2026 the annual window opens to submit rent receipts and collect the Bono Alquiler Joven (Youth Rent Voucher) in the Comunidad de Madrid. We look at which lists have been published, when it is paid, the requirements (€250 a month, aged 18 to 35), how to check your file and correct it step by step, and what is known on 20 October 2026 about the region’s 2025 rent aid and the new State Housing Plan 2026-2030.

If you are between 18 and 35 and rent a home in the Comunidad de Madrid (the Madrid region), the Bono Alquiler Joven (Youth Rent Voucher) is probably the aid you have heard most about: up to €250 a month for a maximum of 24 monthly payments. But being awarded it is only half the job. To actually receive the money you have to prove, receipt by receipt, that you have paid your rent, in stages announced through lists in the BOCM (the Madrid region’s official gazette) with short deadlines. Here is where things stand on 20 October 2026: key dates, payments, requirements, the region’s 2025 rent aid for young people and the new State Housing Plan 2026-2030.
What is happening with the Bono Alquiler Joven on 20 October 2026
The voucher currently being processed in Madrid is the 2024 round. It stems from Royal Decree 42/2022 and, in Madrid, is governed by an Agreement of the regional Governing Council of 26 December 2024, published in the BOCM on 10 January 2025. Applications can be submitted from 3 February 2025 and are decided in stages: first the list of beneficiaries is published, then comes the payment stage, in which each person justifies the months they have paid.
The latest step came on 22 September 2026. The BOCM published the first final list of excluded applicants and the second list of applicants required to correct their file, and, according to the press, the final list of third-stage beneficiaries, approved on 10 September, came out the same day. On its website, the region reports three award orders in this round: with 1,999, 782 and 2,768 beneficiaries.
| Date | What to do | Who it affects | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 23 September to 6 October 2026 | Correct the application (10 working days) | Second list of applicants required to correct their file | Regional portal and BOCM of 22-9-2026 |
| Until 14 October 2026 | Submit the missing 2024 and 2025 rent receipts | Third-stage beneficiaries | Press (OKDIARIO, ADSLZone) |
| 23 September to 22 October 2026 | Optional administrative appeal (recurso potestativo de reposición) | First final list of excluded applicants | BOCM of 22-9-2026 |
| 1 to 15 December 2026 | Submit the year’s receipts to get paid | Beneficiaries with subsidised months in 2026 | Agreement of 26-12-2024, art. 13 |
| Until 22 December 2026 | Hand in the signed tenancy agreement and padrón (municipal registration) certificate | Third stage: those who applied before signing their tenancy agreement | Press (OKDIARIO, ADSLZone) |
Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. The portal’s page, updated on 8 October 2026, includes the second list of applicants required to correct their file; the third-stage dates come from the press.
The next date: 1 to 15 December 2026
The voucher is not paid in one go. Under the Agreement, the first payment covers the months already justified and later payments are annual: receipts are submitted from 1 to 15 December of each year included in the subsidised period. That period is a maximum of 24 monthly payments and starts in January 2024, or in the month your tenancy began if that was later.
Tenants who become beneficiaries will be granted a maximum aid of 250 euros a month
Agreement of the Comunidad de Madrid Governing Council of 26 December 2024, article 8 (our translation)
If your 24 monthly payments include months in 2026, for example because your tenancy started after January 2024, this window is how you get paid for them, using form 3340FA3_24 on the regional portal. If a month is not properly justified, you risk losing it: in June 2026 the region declared the loss of the right to collect certain amounts for beneficiaries of earlier rounds.
When is the Bono Alquiler Joven paid?
No payment calendar has been published. The portal describes five stages: application, corrections and list of beneficiaries, submission of the year’s proof of payment, correction of that proof and payment of the properly justified months. Appearing on a list does not mean you are paid that day.
The money goes to the account you gave; if you change it while your file is being processed, you need a certificate of account ownership stamped by your bank. If the tenancy ends early, the aid is paid up to the termination date, provided you have justified the rent payments, and you must report it within 15 days.
Bono Alquiler Joven requirements in Madrid
| Requirement | What is required |
|---|---|
| Age | 18 to 35, both inclusive, when you apply |
| Contract | A tenancy agreement for a home or a room, or an agreement for the use of a property, in your name, or being in a position to sign one; Spanish nationality or legal residence |
| Home | Your habitual and permanent residence, proven with the padrón (municipal registration) |
| Income | Up to 3 times the IPREM (Spain’s public income benchmark) a year (the portal gives the example of an IPREM of €600 a month: a cap of €1,800 a month); for a room only your own income counts |
| Maximum rent | €600 for a home and €300 for a room; €900 and €450 in the city of Madrid and the other municipalities listed in the annex |
| Exclusions | Owning a home in Spain (with exceptions) or being a first- or second-degree relative or business partner of the landlord |
Source: Agreement of the Governing Council of 26-12-2024 (arts. 4 to 8) and the portal’s page, updated on 8-10-2026. Garage, storage room, community fees and utilities do not count towards the maximum rent. The rent caps are the same as in the first voucher, in 2022.
Can you still apply for the Bono Alquiler Joven in Madrid?
Caution is needed here. The Agreement set no closing date: aid is granted while funds last, with a budget of €31.8 million (€26.9 million in 2025 and €4.9 million in 2026), enough for about 5,300 full grants of €6,000. If the funds are expected to run out, the regional housing department must declare it in an order in the BOCM, and the official page still shows the deadline as ‘permanente’ (ongoing). Some websites reported that the deadline was 30 May 2026, but we have not found any BOCM order saying so. Before applying, check with 012 whether applications are still being accepted.
Madrid’s 2025 rent aid for young people: 50% of the rent, still no lists
Besides the voucher, the region runs an annual rent aid call covering 50% of one year’s rent, awarded competitively, with a programme for young people aged 18 to 35 in which everyone in the household must be 35 or under. The 2025 call was published in the BOCM on 28 October 2025, with €21.7 million (€10.3 million for young people), applications from 4 November to 15 December and more than 7,000 expected beneficiaries in 55 municipalities.
On 20 October 2026, its page shows it as ‘en tramitación’ (being processed) with no provisional list yet. When it comes out, there will be 10 working days to correct applications. In the previous call, the provisional list came out on 17 July 2025, the final one on 29 December 2025 and the request for payment documents on 19 May 2026. No date has been announced for the 2025 call.
Can you receive both? The voucher is incompatible with other public rent aid, except non-contributory Social Security benefits and the Ingreso Mínimo Vital (minimum income scheme). It can be combined with the young people’s programme of the State Plan 2022-2025, which funds this call, but the two together cannot exceed 75% of the rent.
The State Housing Plan 2026-2030: up to €300 for under-35s
Royal Decree 326/2026 of 22 April, in force since 24 April, regulates the new State Housing Plan and takes over from the 2022-2025 plan, which funded the voucher. It includes specific rent aid for young people and requires at least 30% of each year’s funding to go to reducing the burden of housing costs and helping young people leave home.
Specific rent aid is established for young people for a period of up to 4 years to make it easier for them to leave home.

Sources: Agreement of 26-12-2024; Royal Decree 326/2026, according to Notarios y Registradores (3-5-2026) and El Español (25-4-2026). The final requirements are set by each region in its call.
When will it reach Madrid? Each region has to join the plan and open a call. For 2026, the royal decree allows state funds to be transferred by resolution, with the region’s express consent, and this aid to be granted with effect from 1 January 2026. On 20 October 2026 we have not found any Madrid call with the new amounts.
We do know the timing of recent years: the 2024 rent aid was announced in the BOCM of 29 October 2024 and the 2025 aid in that of 28 October 2025, both with applications until 15 December. If that pattern holds, the BOCM is worth watching in the coming weeks, although no date has been announced. If a call comes out, compare before applying: the voucher is incompatible with most rent aid.
Step by step: how to check your file and correct it
- Go to sede.comunidad.madrid and look for the page ‘Bono Alquiler Joven (2024)’ or ‘Ayudas al alquiler de vivienda para jóvenes y sectores de escasos recursos (2025)’. The lists and their FAQs are there.
- Log in to Mis Gestiones (My Procedures), in your Cuenta Digital (digital account), with a recognised identification system such as a digital certificate. You will see your file’s status, the documents sent and any notifications.
- Look for your file number on the list and read the reason: lists of applicants required to correct their file state which requirement or document is missing.
- To correct, go to ‘Acciones sobre la solicitud’ (actions on the application), under ‘Tramitación’ (processing), and use form 3340FA4_24 (BOCM requests also mention 3340FR1_24). For receipts in the payment stage, use 3340FA3_24.
- Attach exactly what is requested: complete signed tenancy agreement, household padrón certificate showing when each person registered, proof of payment, a land registry search (nota de localización) or a certificate of bank account ownership.
- Submit on time: 10 working days from the day after publication. If you do not respond, your application will be treated as withdrawn.
- Keep the registration receipt and check in Mis Gestiones a few days later that the documents are on file.
Common mistakes that cost monthly payments
- Paying in cash. Bank transfers, deposits and Bizum (Spain’s instant mobile payment system) are accepted if they show who pays, who receives, the amount, the reference and the month and year. An invoice on its own does not prove payment.
- Paying from an account that is not yours, or into an account other than the one in the contract, without proving who holds it.
- Sharing a flat and having one person pay the landlord everything without being able to prove the others’ transfers.
- Submitting a padrón certificate without the date you registered at the address, which is not the same as the date you registered in the municipality.
- Handing in an incomplete, undated or unsigned tenancy agreement, or an unsigned application.
- Not reporting a change of address or the end of the tenancy within 15 days.
- Confusing the date of a list with the payment date, or leaving it until the last day.
How we do it at Llavely
Everything above has something in common: proving who you are, what you earn and that you pay your rent. It is the same thing landlords usually ask for, which is why at Llavely we want tenants to prepare it only once. Llavely is renting the other way round: tenants create their verified profile once, with their identity and income checked (if anything doesn’t add up, a member of our team reviews it), and it is landlords and agencies who invite them to view their property.
It is free for tenants, landlords and agencies, with every feature; for tenants, it is always free. Rentals are already open in the provinces of Madrid and Barcelona, so there you no longer have to send the same documents for every listing. In the rest of Spain there is a waiting list: sign up with your areas and we will email you when we open there. We cannot promise you a flat or an aid, but we can offer a more orderly process.
If this suits you and you are looking for a flat in the provinces of Madrid or Barcelona, create your profile for free; if you are a landlord or an agency, list your property for free: you can paste the text of the listing you already have and a member of our team checks it in under 24 hours before it goes live. And if you own a home in the Comunidad de Madrid and are thinking of selling, we can help with that too: 2.5% + VAT, only if it sells, with everything included. Ask for your free valuation.
Frequently asked questions
When is the Bono Alquiler Joven paid in Madrid?
No payment calendar has been published. The first payment covers the months you have already justified with receipts, and later payments are annual: receipts are submitted from 1 to 15 December of each year of the subsidised period and the region pays after checking them. Appearing on a list of beneficiaries does not mean you are paid that same day.
What has to be submitted between 1 and 15 December 2026?
Proof of rent payment for the subsidised months of 2026, using form 3340FA3_24 on the regional portal. It must show who pays, who receives, the amount, the reference and the month and year. It applies to anyone with months in 2026 within their 24 monthly payments.
How much is the Bono Alquiler Joven in Madrid and what is the maximum rent?
Up to €250 a month, not exceeding the rent, for a maximum of 24 monthly payments, so up to €6,000. Rent cannot exceed €600 for a home or €300 for a room, or €900 and €450 in the city of Madrid and the other municipalities in the annex.
Can I apply for the Bono Alquiler Joven in Madrid now?
The 2024 Agreement allowed applications from 3 February 2025, with no closing date, while funds lasted, and the official page still shows the deadline as ongoing. We have not found any BOCM order closing applications or declaring the funds exhausted. Before applying, check with 012 whether applications are still accepted.
What happens if I do not correct my application in time?
If you do not correct the application or provide the documents within 10 working days, the authorities will treat it as withdrawn. If you are excluded in a final list, you can lodge an optional administrative appeal within one month or go to court within two months, from the day after publication in the BOCM.
Can the voucher be combined with the region’s 50% rent aid?
The voucher is incompatible with other public rent aid, except non-contributory benefits and the Ingreso Mínimo Vital. It can be combined with the young people’s programme of the State Plan 2022-2025, but the two together cannot exceed 75% of the rent.
When will the lists for the 2025 rent aid come out?
No date has been announced. On 20 October 2026, the official page shows it as being processed, with no provisional list. In the previous call, the provisional list came out about seven months after applications closed, on 17 July 2025, and the final one on 29 December 2025.
When will the €300 aid from the State Plan 2026-2030 reach Madrid?
It depends on the Comunidad de Madrid joining the plan and publishing its call. The royal decree has been in force since 24 April 2026 and allows this aid to be granted with effect from 1 January 2026, but on 20 October 2026 no Madrid call had been published.
