Living and selling in the South-west of Madrid

The south-west of the Madrid region stretches on both sides of the A-5 and towards the La Sagra area, on the border with the province of Toledo, from the outskirts of Móstoles and Fuenlabrada to the Alberche valley. It brings together 18 municipalities and around 164,000 inhabitants. Navalcarnero, with its historic centre and the Plaza de Segovia, is the main town of the area, along with Arroyomolinos, which has grown a great deal with new neighbourhoods and a large shopping and leisure centre. Other municipalities are Griñón, El Álamo, Torrejón de la Calzada, Torrejón de Velasco, Sevilla la Nueva and Villa del Prado.

Much of the housing is relatively recent: terraced houses, detached houses on estates and flats in new neighbourhoods, alongside traditional village centres. Connections are by road, with the A-5, the R-5 and the A-42, and by intercity bus; there is no Cercanías commuter rail or Metro. It mainly attracts families looking for more square metres at medium or low prices without moving away from the large towns of the south.

  • 18 municipalities and around 164,000 inhabitants
  • A-5 and A-42 motorways
  • Historic centre of Navalcarnero
  • River Alberche (Villa del Prado and Aldea del Fresno)
