Living and selling in Ciudad Lineal
Ciudad Lineal takes its name from Arturo Soria's late 19th-century urban planning project: a city organised along one long street, today's Calle de Arturo Soria. The district is very varied. In the north, Costillares, Atalaya and Colina have detached houses and residential estates with gardens; in the south, Ventas, Pueblo Nuevo, Quintana and Concepción mainly have mid-20th-century blocks of flats and plenty of local shops.
It is crossed by Calle de Alcalá and the M-30, and has Metro lines 2, 4, 5 and 7. It is one of the most populated districts in Madrid. It attracts families and buyers looking for a mid-range price, below the city average, with good connections to the centre and the airport. The differences between neighbourhoods are large: Colina and San Juan Bautista are the most expensive areas.
