Living and selling in Latina
Latina stretches across the south-west of Madrid, from the River Manzanares to the city boundary, and is one of the most populated districts in the city. It should not be confused with the La Latina neighbourhood, which is in the Centro district. Its neighbourhoods grew mainly between the 1950s and 70s, with brick blocks of flats; Las Águilas was developed somewhat later. Near the river, Puerta del Ángel and Los Cármenes have a more urban feel and are very close to the centre.
It has large green spaces, such as the Parque Cuña Verde de Latina, and borders the Casa de Campo. It is connected by Metro lines 5, 6 and 10, the Metro Ligero (light rail) and Cercanías commuter rail at stations such as Aluche and Las Águilas. It is a family district, with prices below the Madrid average, which attracts first-time buyers.
