Living and selling in Usera
Usera lies south of the River Manzanares, opposite Arganzuela and Madrid Río. Its neighbourhoods grew mainly between the 1950s and 70s, with blocks of flats, and some areas, such as Orcasitas, were later rebuilt with new housing. Calle de Marcelo Usera and the streets around it are known for their large Chinese community, with plenty of shops and restaurants that draw visitors from all over the city.
It has the Parque Lineal del Manzanares and the Parque de Pradolongo, and the 12 de Octubre Hospital is next to the Orcasur neighbourhood. It is served by Metro lines 3 and 6 and Cercanías commuter rail at stations such as Doce de Octubre and Orcasitas. According to idealista, it is one of the districts with the lowest price per square metre in the city and one of those that have risen most over the last year, which attracts first-time buyers who want to stay close to the centre.
