Living and selling in Puente de Vallecas

Puente de Vallecas is one of the most populated districts in Madrid and one with the strongest neighbourhood identity. It lies to the south-east, on the other side of the M-30, and Avenida de la Albufera runs through it. Its housing dates largely from the mid- and late 20th century, with blocks of flats in neighbourhoods such as Numancia, San Diego, Portazgo, Entrevías and Palomeras, many of them built in large public housing schemes.

The district is home to the Estadio de Vallecas, Rayo Vallecano's football ground, and parks such as the Cerro del Tío Pío, with views over the city. Metro line 1 crosses it from end to end, and it has Cercanías commuter rail at El Pozo and Asamblea de Madrid-Entrevías. According to idealista, it is the district with the second-largest price rise over the last year, after Villaverde, although it remains well below the city average. It mainly attracts first-time buyers.
