Villarejo de Salvanés lies about 50 km south-east of Madrid, next to the A-3, in the south-eastern area of the region. It has around 8,000 inhabitants and a centre listed as a historic site, with the keep of its old castle, which belonged to the Order of Santiago, and the 16th-century Casa de la Tercia, with wine cellars and underground galleries.
